Medical Student Neurotics Anonymous.

It reveals the neurotic-ism of medical students when one small thing changes we all start freaking a bit. Case in point, today in class, two people sat one row behind than what they usually do, causing the people our row momentarily pause. Picture this: our entire row is empty except for these two students who sat in the “wrong” (very subjective term here) seats. I’m sure it was a universal thought running through all out minds - “Great. Now what? Our row’s sanctity is soiled!” (or something to that degree)

Naturally we coped, and instead of just a couple people changing seats, everyone in our row, in solidarity, moves one row back, prompting everyone else to move back one row.

Now this feels awkward. Five feet farther back makes all the difference in the world.

I wonder about our mental health sometimes…

EDIT: thankfully, those two students realized their error and got back into their original seats. And now we’re all happily back in our row. Yay! That’ll teach them.
