No matter what you make, it will still be a work of art worth remembering.

I have no expectations for the new year, but I will have goals. What comes of it (good, bad or in between) will still serve as memories that will shape me to hopefully become a better person. There’s always room for improvement. At the same time, there’s always room to be happy and enjoy where you’re at in the moment. I may not have expected to be where I am at the moment, but I’m going to damn well make the best of it. The past is a good place to visit, but not to stay.

Some goals for this year:

  • Run the St. Louis Half, Run the Tough Mudder in WI, Run the Chicago Marathon. (and other races)
  • Focus more on self-care.
  • Do more for me.
  • Live, not just survive another year.
  • Have limits; learn to say no.
  • Prioritize.
  • Change my toothbrush every 3 months.
  • Keep my schedule.
  • Communicate more clearly-er.
  • It’s ok to tell my friends about my problems.
  • Be better.
  • Be more efficient at framing and re-framing discussions
  • Keep the passion - express it in appropriate situations.

Are these things that will make me happy? I’m generally a happy person anyways, so no. I think I can improve on these, and this list is by no means the final say on what I can and cannot improve (it’s a quick list!). Cheers to the new year!
